eBay Set a fine table for your honored guests and beloved family… “Masterpiece” Sterling Silver Flatware by International Silver HISTORY & STYLE of the PATTERN The “Masterpiece” sterling flatware pattern was created by the International Silver Company in Meriden, Connecticut. The company introduced this pattern in 1963 as a direct competitor to Wallace’s popular Grande Baroque pattern. “Masterpiece” was produced until 1996 (when International stopped making sterling flatware). What elevates this Baroque design above the ordinary is the unusual shapes of the ‘business-end’ of the implements. The spoons are egg-shaped rather than simple ovals. The times of the individual salad fork and the meat serving fork are notched and have a graceful everted shape, with interesting carvings at their bases. The individual butter spreader is notched; the master butter knife is picual-shaped. It is the details of “Masterpiece” that show off the art of fine sterling flatware.
