Marx #490 0-4-0 Steam Locomotive Powered 4 Unit Army Supply Train ________________________________________This is a used Marx #490, 0-4-0 steam locomotive powered 4 unit 027 gauge Army Supply train set. It is a complete train set made up of components that I believe were made in the 1960’s. The train goes in the forward direction only as it was built to do, and it runs really great. Included in this sale are the following: 1 – Marx #490 0-4-0 steam Army Supply locomotive, with a bright working headlight and lens and a powerful ac motor that runs in the forward direction only, as it was built to do. The 490 was built from 1962 to 1965. 1 – Marx U.S. Army, 4 wheel tender.1 – Marx, U.S. Army 4 wheel hopper car.1 – Marx U.S.Army 4 wheel caboose, with a roof mounted anti aircraft cannon that swivels 360 degrees and elevates to engage air targets as well as ground targets. 1 – Lionel #1015 45 watt transformer with a speed control, a 110 volt power cord and a 2 conductor cable and terminal connector for connection to the track.10 – military figures in various action poses, ( 5 light green and 5 dark green). 8 – 027 gauge curved track sections. 4 – 027 gauge straight track sections 1 – Standard Operating Instruction Booklet 1 – Track polishing pad I completely assembled the set and tested everything. All parts of the train are in good condition and it runs great. Other than the locomotive, I don’t know what the original model numbers of the rolling stock were, since all of the train components have been repainted in Olive Green and have had military graphics applied, but the components are all very nicely done, there may be light rust on some of the the metal parts, but nothing affects the operation of the train. All of the cars have knuckle couplers, except for the front coupler of the tender, which has a slot/tab coupler for connection to the locomotive. The track has some light rust and tarnish. I lightly cleaned them, made sure each track had 3 pins and the train runs nicely on them. I included a track polishing pad for maintenance. This is a basic train set and is ready to set up and play with.I do not have any manuals for this train, the booklet I am including has suggestions and tips for basic operation.
