They are Made in the USA by HELIX BMX. I’ve been producing these in small batches for bmx collectors for over 20 years! Buy them here, direct from the guy that designed them! I designed these Helix BMX Dropout Savers back in the early 2000s to protect the dropouts of my own vintage bmx frames. Proudly made by a true vintage BMX collector, for BMX collectors! I’ve been out of these for years… Finally back in stock! Get ’em while I’ve got ’em! Similar to the popular Helix BMX Dropout Savers I offer for the oversize 1/2″ PK Ripper style dropouts, but different… These are designed specifically for Cro-Mo steel bikes with standard dropouts with 3/8″ axle slots. This inludes old school frames from Mongoose, Webco, DG, Haro, Hutch, GT, Cook Bros, JMC, Torker, VDC, Diamond Back, CW, and many, many other popular brands. Please note that they will not fit the shorter Redline MX-II dropouts. These will also fit the newly re-issued 2007 and newer… SE Racing PK Ripper, Quadangle, Floval Flyer, OM Flyer, Big Ripper, etc. They will also fit… SKYWAY T/A frames 20″ and 24″ This includes all of the old school Skyway frames from the 1980s and the newly re-issued frames as well. Protect the dropouts on your freshly restored frame. Or, use them to clean up the looks of the ugly dropouts on your un-restored survivor. The backside of each Dropout Saver has a protrusion that extends into the dropout to locate the axle and protect the dropout. The large backside surface that mates to the dropout face features a completely radiused outer edge. This prevents an otherwise sharp cornered (90º square) edge from marking or gouging the painted, powder coated, or anodized finish of your frame. If your dropouts are less than desirable, this will hide the ugly. These Helix BMX Dropout Savers are CNC machined from heat treated, aircraft quality 6061-T6 aluminum alloy billet. They are then tumble finished to remove any sharp edges to protect your frames finish. This leaves them with a raw aluminum finish. They are designed to be used as-is, but you can also send them out to be anodized any color you want. The Helix BMX Dropout Savers were completely modeled in 3D CAD software to ensure the proper dimensions and geometry to be used in manufacturing.
