You can occasionally find something that is actually authentic offered for sale but signed by the ENTIRE band… VERY RARE! This is your opportunity to purchase an item personally signed by all of them 36 years ago! I had the good fortune of working with the Grateful Dead on 4 different tours. They did not stop to sign items together very often and most times it was just a couple of them showing up to a press event at a venue. Occasionally they would all be present. OCCASIONALLY. They would leave hotels and enter and exit venues separately quite often – most times in different limos or shuttle busses. Most times, with friends, family or management with them. Approaching them for an autograph as part of the crew was extremely frowned upon and could get you into a lot of trouble and/or even fired. I had to pick my opportunities very wisely and it often involved a friend with production / band management and an expensive bottle of bourbon as a thank you. My very last show working with the band was in 1995 at Soldier Field. Prior to that I worked on the 1994 tour, the 1993 tour and the infamous 1990 tour with the stop at the World Music Theater in Tinley Park, Illinois which was a brand-new outdoor venue just South of Chicago. What a story I have about that gig! I can’t decide whether or not I want to frame this piece for myself or simply get it into the hands of another TRUE fan. Undoubtedly, one of the greatest bands of our time and who’s music speaks to multiple generations. I am going to offer this up for sale and in the event, it does not sell in short order, I may just pull it and frame it up to hang in my Manhattan residence. I went so far as to literally catalog everything I collected at a particular promotional event or concert and going so far as to keep an actual journal for over 30 years with meticulous notes.
